Corrections & Updates

Accuracy matters when a calculation relates to pay or superannuation. This page explains how to report a possible mistake in the calculator or accompanying information.

What kinds of issues can be reported?

You can report an incorrect SG percentage, financial-year label, formula, worked example, broken calculator control, misleading explanation, missing limitation or outdated reference to Australian superannuation rules.

A result that differs from a payslip does not automatically mean the calculator is wrong: eligibility, qualifying earnings, contribution limits, employment terms and payroll timing may affect the comparison.

How can you report a correction?

Use the Contact Us form and select Content correction or Calculator issue.

To help identify the issue, include:

  • The page address and the exact wording or figure in question.
  • The financial year, pay frequency and non-sensitive sample inputs, if relevant.
  • The result you received and the result you expected.
  • An official reference or explanation supporting a proposed correction, if available.

Do not send your Tax File Number, bank details, passwords, super fund account credentials or other sensitive personal information.

How should reported issues be checked?

A reported issue should be compared with the published calculation method, the applicable financial year and relevant primary guidance, including ATO materials where appropriate. If the report concerns a technical fault, the steps should be reproducible before its cause is stated as confirmed.

Where information cannot be verified, it should not be presented as established fact.

What happens when a correction is needed?

A confirmed material error should be corrected in the relevant page or calculator logic. Any affected examples, source references or related explanations should also be checked for consistency.

When a correction materially changes the interpretation of published information, an explanatory note or update date may be added where useful. Minor spelling and formatting changes need not be treated as substantive corrections.

We do not currently publish a comprehensive historical corrections log or guarantee a particular response or resolution time.

Where can you check authoritative information?

Refer to the Australian Taxation Office for current superannuation guidance and the rules that apply to your circumstances. Our Editorial Policy describes sourcing standards, and Terms & Disclaimer explains the scope of calculator estimates.
